Welcome to your new year

A symbolic renewal of relationship with life

Oh behold the greatness that awaits

It won’t be without struggle, and it won’t be without pain

But rest assured it will be great, it that’s what you make it

Asymmetric information makes the mind go wild

Got us acting like fools since we got no clue what’s going on

Erratic, bold moves and cryptic texts

Declarations of truth and then he recants

Got me acting like Sherlock Holmes

Sniffing out out clues about information withheld

With my magnifying glass in hand

I sift through the words said and unsaid

Trying plan my next move

A rock between a hard place,

I’m feeling all of the feels and none.

I don’t know what the future holds.

I’m bracing myself for bad,

But hoping for good.

All the hope is true.

There are no wrong answers.

But there are better ones.

I hope and pray we learn our lessons.

But I don’t know who is the student and who is the teacher.

Breathe in and breathe out.

It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon.

A numbing silence.

Who are you and what have you done with my friend?

Suddenly the man who talking,

Doesn’t sound like the friend I’ve come to know and love.

Who are you?

What have you done with my old friend?

Is this the new you, here to stay?

The friend I know, never would be saying these things.

I’ve never seen you quite like this.

Just a short time ago you wouldn’t be talking like this.

I’ve never seen you like this…

Vulnerable, romantic, and with your heart wide open.

If this new man is here to stay,

I could get used to him.

This new you, might be a better man.

Who are you, and what have you done with my friend?
